Synthetic Organic and Organoelement Chemistry, Chemistry of Natural Compounds and Chemistry of Physiologically Active Compounds.
These works are developing in the following areas:
- synthesis of novel classes of organic and elementoorganic compounds for screening their biological activity;
- isolation and synthetic modification of natural compounds;
- development of novel fluoro- and phosphoro-containing physiologically active compo-unds;
- novel heterocyclic compounds.
The main scientific achievements are the following:
- synthesis of a lardge number of novel polycyclic heterocycles (indoles, indolopyridines, heteroadamantanes, bicyclo[3.3.1]nonanes, phosphorus-containing crowns etc.):
- isolation, structural identification and synthetic modification of natural compounds from plants (terpene lactones, natural herbicides) and animals (insect toxines, pheromones);
- discovery of novel fluorinating reagents; in particular the hypervalent reagents such as Xe(OTf)2, Xe(OSO2F)2, C6H5IF2, CF3CHFCF2N2, RSeF, RSeF3, RTeF3;
- synthesis of phosphor containing analogues of aminoacids, including synthesis of chiral compounds;
- synthesis of novel types of six-coordinated phosphorus, for example:
- synthesis of sandvich phtalocyanines with rare-earth element and their use as catalysts (oxydation, CO2-binding):
